As we work towards raising the funds to establish the Museum of Islamic Arts & Heritage, we will also be delivering projects that fulfil our objectives with the resources that we can access in the present. It is urgent that we address the general failure of mainstream arts and cultural organisations to engage Muslim communities with programming that centres their interests and the histories that are relevant to their diverse cultures and backgrounds. In the absence of a physical space, this website provides a digital space for the galleries that we envision with online exhibitions and interactive visual essays. It is a space for writers, artists and critical thinkers to discuss the challenges faced by Muslims and people of colour - both those working within the arts sector, and those who want to see changes in the arts programming that is available to them as audiences. It also serves as a platform to document our projects and the work of the Muslim artists, creatives and writers, and the communities with whom we work.
Please support our work in whatever way you can and get involved in this exciting and essential project.
